What’s your business, and who are your customers?
Remble is a personalized mental health app that features hundreds of courses, activities, and TikTok-style videos created by licensed therapists from around the world. Remble helps with a variety of challenges, including relationship issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, communication and conflict management, and reducing stress. Our customers are individuals looking to strengthen their relationships and learn new skills to improve their mental and emotional well-being. Our goal is to empower millions of people worldwide by making mental health and relationship support easily accessible. We believe that everyone deserves the tools and resources to live their best life.
Tell us about yourself
As a therapist, I found joy in helping clients for many years. However, I realized that I was limited in the amount of impact I could have doing one-on-one sessions. So, in November 2019, I started an Instagram account to share mental health resources and relationship education, which quickly grew to 250,000 followers. I received dozens of messages weekly from individuals struggling with their mental and emotional well-being, seeking guidance. This showed me the need for accessible and affordable mental health resources. To address this, I founded Remble, an app that empowers users with tools to improve their mental health, strengthen their relationships, and reach their full potential. The positive impact Remble has on our users motivates me to keep growing so that we can reach and help more people.
What’s your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, I am proud to have achieved several key milestones. The highlight of these accomplishments is the successful fundraising of $1.4 million in venture funding, which allowed me to assemble a talented and dedicated team. Additionally, launching our iOS and Android apps last year was a significant accomplishment, as it enabled us to bring our vision to life and our services to a wider audience. These achievements demonstrate our commitment to providing the best possible mental health content to those who need it.
What’s one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of my greatest challenges as a first-time business owner is figuring out how to effectively scale the business while managing costs. Balancing growth and budget can be a difficult task. To tackle this challenge, we have experimented with various customer acquisition strategies and are continuously seeking partnerships with organizations that can help us expand the reach of Remble to those in need of mental health support.
What are the top tips you’d give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top 3 tips for starting, running, and growing a business are:
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Take the leap and learn as you go.
Build a strong support system by actively seeking mentorship from those who have achieved what you aim to do. Their experience and knowledge will accelerate your learning and growth.
Prioritize understanding your customers through in-depth market research to determine their needs and preferences. Use this information to create a minimum viable product, launch it quickly, and continuously make improvements based on customer feedback.
